Beautiful antique Victorian/Edwardian buttonhook featuring a finely polished banded agate.Much of the naturally banded chalcedony was cut and polished by Scottish Artisans. Called Scottish pebble jewelry it became popular in England after Queen Victoria bought Balmoral Castle. The metal hook is not marked may be silverplate it is secure with light age patina. This is a lovely piece in good condition with no noticeable flaws.
