Spacecraft: Buran OK-GLI (Buran Analog BST-02 / Vehicle 0.02). TheBuran OK-GLI (0.02) was the crucial atmospheric test vehicle of the Soviet Buran-Energia program. Unlike the space-flown Buran, the 0.02 was equipped with four turbojet engines, allowing it to take off under its own power to test aerodynamic flight characteristics and the automated landing systems.
What was the Buran OK-GLI (0.02)?. The OK-GLI (or BTS-002) was the “Enterprise” of the Soviet Union, but with a major twist: unlike the US Enterprise, the OK-GLI was equipped with four AL-31 jet engines, allowing it to take off under its own power to test automatic gliding and landing systems.

The OK-GLI (Orbital ship for horizontal flight tests), also known as Buran Analog BST-02, was a test vehicle (“Buran aerodynamic analogue”) in the Buran Space Shuttle Program. It was constructed in 1984. Full-scale aerodynamic flight test vehicle that completed 25 manned test flights between 1985 and 1988 before being retired. Displayed during the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Also displayed in Bahrain in 2002 where it remained stored in several pieces for five years. Finally purchased by the Technik Museum in Speyer, Germany, and put on display in 2008. Platform.
