Zholobov”, “A. Filipchenko” and “Pyotr Klimuk” in Russian, 6×4. Russian envelope honoring the 20th anniversary of the launch of the first man-made satellite, Sputnik, on October 4, 1957. Pictorially postmarked October 4, 1977. PAVEL R. POPOVICH (1930-2009) flew solo aboard Vostok 4 (1962) and was the commander of Soyuz 14 (1974), which occupied the Salyut space station. He was scheduled for a circumlunar flight but it was cancelled after the success of Apollo 8 (1968). VITALI ZHOLOBOV (b.1937) was the flight engineer aboard Soyuz 21 (July 6-August 24, 1976), which docked with Salyut. ANATOLI FILIPCHENKO (1928-2022) was Commander of Soyuz 7 (October 12-17, 1969) and Soyuz 16 (December 2-8, 1974). PYOTR KLIMUK (b.1942) was Commander of Soyuz 13 (December 18-26, 1973), Soyuz 18 (May 24-July 26, 1975), and Soyuz 30 (June 27-July 5, 1978), docking with Salyut on last two missions. Fine condition.
