This is a wonderful figural gas lamp from the 1890-1910s with it’s original finish.The glass gas shade is in excellent condition. It is mounted on a heavy base and is very stable. It has been rewired with a new candelabra socket and high low dimmer switch. The original finish shows some wear but looks great. It stands 22″ to top of shade and the stone base is 4 5/8″ wide. This wonderful example of Mexican primitive art, Santos, has all the characteristics of an age worthy religious artifact. As you view all of the photos please take your time to examine the details of the ‘bronze snake’ , along with the other Christian symbols. FYI: the snake isn’t actually a bronze casting. This piece measures approximately 14” in height. Dating from the 1880s or early 1890s up to probably 1910, the lot comprises for images, a 9.75 x 2.75” photograph from the 1890s showing lumberjacks at their winter camp with sleighs in front of them, Along with three 9 x 7“ images, showing lumberjack in the woods with a machine, cutting down massive trees, a forest sawmill, and a log drive with a train loading up timber along a riverbank.
