Abalone is getting harder and harder to get, it is only harvested once a year now because of over harvesting like humans do with everything not all just most and at the rate things are going now there will be no season for abalone hunters. This Cherokee Stone Works knife has Nickel Silver Bolsters that are crimped for much added strength and have a shell design at the tip. All of these knives are completely Hand Made , in my opinion they are one of the most beautiful knives we stock, and as you can see we keep allot in stock because one day we will place an order and be told no more plus the way these sell we can have 12 in stock and in two days have none, its happened before , but I have also sat on some for a while I never know so I just try to keep enough so we have happy customers which is our goal. and our price has gone up a little on our last two orders this tells me Cherokee stone works is having a hard time getting abalone. UPDATE 9/29/20 this is the end of these beautiful knives we just brought everyone Cherokee had, and once these are sold we will not be able to replace any, and we have sold 92 of just this knife getting 0 back. The Back Springs and the spine on the blades both have beautiful tooling work done on them which adds to the over-all appearance, and these back springs are very tight please be extra careful, If you look very close at the handle you’ll see that blue isn’t the only color in these beauties there is at least 8 different colors blue being the main one. We will also tell you Abalone is only sold one time per year and there’s talk of closing the harvest down for good, do you know what that would do to the cost of any Abalone handle knife, these would double maybe triple instantly, it took us four months just to get these six. So if you would like to own a beautiful blue abalone pocket knife a knife made to use and made by a company known for making high end pocket knives only please have at one or more we are very fair with the price of these knives I’m saying this because if you have someone you need a gift for these would be perfect for you. Lastly you will see china etched on a blade on the opposite side of the blade is Cherokee stone works Stamped ,, why- china made the black display case you get with your knife and the International Trade Laws say that the country that packaged an item any item not just knives has the right to put their name on it, now why would a knife company allow this they save $1.26 per knife on packaging the U.S. & Germany charge $1.88 per knife , china , Pakistan & Taiwan charge .62 cents so they are saving / making a $1.26 just on the packaging and each year they have tens of thousands of knives done do the math. If the name is stamped on a blade that is how the public are supposed to know who made the knife, but this doesn’t work either because of the loop holes in the laws Buck knife has made in the U.S.A. Stamped on knives that were made in Japan with their materials so all of you that think you are buying only German or U.S. knives are only fooling yourself ,you can read this it is all in print, in the International Trade Laws.
