An art form unique to the Cuna Indians on San Blas Island, Panama, these reverse applique pieces (pictures made by overlaying many different layers of colored cloth, and cutting through the various layers to form pictures or designs) have been collectible for years and are now appreciated as an art form. Some were intended as decorations for blouses or other items of clothing, but the panels are now created as art in its own right. Professionally framed – size framed: 26.5×23.5″ Mola itself is 16×13″ I have another listed that was framed at the same time by the same framers. Same mat and frame, different liner. They make a nice pair. Colors are true on my screen.
