This is perfect for gift giving or for a collector. This VG amazingly beautiful framed (no glass) cross stitch sampler piece is a wonderful addition to any collection. The design features a child's prayer with children, kittens and embroidered rose flowers, from the 1940s. It features the “now I lay me down to sleep” prayer and is beautifully embroidered with cross stitch detailing. The piece was handmade in Wisconsin, United States and is of excellent quality. There are just a few tiny light specs and fine lines on the front due to age. We have not cleaned it. It is a family piece made for children and has been stored for decades. The colors are bright and vivid. No rips or large discolorations. The type of embroidery is cross stitch, which is a popular and well-known technique during WW2 and post war. The vintage hand painted frame coordinates beautifully and includes a rose and cross stitch x’s. It appears to be made of oak and has wonderful aged patina. No back hanger on frame. The piece is perfect for those who appreciate handmade and vintage items. It is a finished cross stitch piece and is ready to be displayed in any room of the house. Large size: 23” x 19” frame.
