Mongols, Rajputs and Sikhs used scimitars in warfare, among many other peoples. Numerous Islamic traditions adopted scimitars, as attested by their symbolic occurrence in art and the Coat of Arms of Saudi Arabia, where it was also used by executioners for beheading.
