Antique Russian Orthodox Icon Silver Relief Icon on Wood with Painted Faces

Specifications

Exquisitely detailed Silver Relief icon of St. Nicholas in liturgical robes with outstretched arms and blessing with his right hand while holding the Gospel in his left hand. Christ and the Theotokos on either side look down from Heaven.The faces and hands are hand painted. The silver has not been cleaned and has a great patina. It appears that at some point later in it's life that it may have been set into a hand carved wooden case. The Silver Relief dimensions are 4 1/2 x 4 1/2. The wooden case has wormholes in back and it's dimensions are 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 x/4 it weighs 9.3 oz. I believe it's from the 1800's.
