EL TORO (The Bull) attributed to Rosendo Rodriguez ~ Mexican Folk Art circa 1970s Rodriguez, developed his own style echoing the naguals of Julian Acero and and Candelario Medrano. Rodriguez expressed his own magical and playful ideal based on the bull, matador and cuadrillas of the then popular bull fights. Chocolate brown primary color, ornamented with leaves, goats, matadors and cuadrillas (picadors with banderilleros) which are attached with wire. Displays well, wired elements are loose, some wired features may have been lost over time but loss is not obvious, minor chipping around base, wire is old and brittle Approximately 13" long, 12" tall, 7" wide.
