We use a solid aluminum body for a lighter feel, at only 43 grams. Each of these pens are made with panels of white oceanic mother of pearl and strongly-hued Pāua abalone seashell. These panels are cut by hand directly from the area near the center of the shell and have a hardness of 4.5 on the Mohs scale (as hard as steel).
