Antique Ansonia Clock Company black marble/slate mantel clock with decorative marble inlays, ornate gold-tone bezel, porcelain dial, and exposed/open escapement. Movement is marked “Ansonia Clock Co., New York, U.S.A.” and “Patented June 14, ’81.” The 1881 marking is the patent date of the movement. Clock has been restored and is in excellent working condition. Mechanical wind-up movement with separate winding points for the clock and strike mechanism. Very attractive antique clock with a substantial black marble/slate case and detailed gold and marble accents. Displays extremely well. Some normal cosmetic wear consistent with age; please see photos for condition.
